This half term we are exploring collage and using Henri Matisse as inspiration. Last week we looked at his famous “The snail” piece which he made using giant pieces of torn paper. We then explored this further by replicating his artwork on a smaller scale. We found that we had to think carefully about the shape we wanted.
This week we created our own masterpieces. First we made a rough sketch of our chosen animal and then we tore paper to make different shapes and stuck the pieces to fit. Our animals looked really good when we were finished and our classroom looked a complete mess with paper all over the floor!
