Sports Funding 2015-16

Coldfair Green Primary School allocation £8,651 for 2015-2016

How we spent the Sports Premium funding in 2015-2016:

  • We have spent the funding on the employment of a specialist PE teacher to work with staff to continue to develop confidence in the teaching of PE, to build links with other primary schools in the partnership of schools in the form of Inter-school competitions for both Key Stage One and Two. (£4,934)
  • We have created a Trim Trail ‘Walk to Aldeburgh’ challenge using the school grounds to create activity stations outside for children to use during free play as well as in PE lessons. Children are already responding to this well and becoming more active as a result; challenging each other to walk to Ipswich, Felixstowe, London, Paris and other places further afield. (cost neutral)
  • Developing intra-school competitions and providing training and payment for Learning Support Assistants to introduce playground games at lunchtimes and after school. Making full use of the new play facility (£250)
  • Subsidising offsite swimming in order to ensure that every child can swim by the end of Year 6 (£1000)

Total received: £6,250 (shortfall covered by school budget)

Impact:

Higher quality PE lessons

  • Staff have greater confidence in planning and delivering Physical Education lessons
  • Professional dialogue, modelling of PE lessons, team planning and peer to peer support have led to a higher standard of teaching of PE
  • Equipment is being used more effectively
  • Assessment of pupils and development in PE show that the funding is having an impact

The assessment of pupils in PE shows the impact of the funding.
